This weekend, we discovered the joint statement from the Ministries of Health and the Interior, on the new stage of Moroccan deconfinement. If Marrakech is indeed one of the last four prefectures and provinces, still remaining in zone 2, the good news is that the confinement is easing a bit and that economic activity is picking up slowly, but surely. As usual, Made in Marrakech gives you a clear and concise point of view on what to expect from June 24 at midnight.
Marrakech, still in zone 2
It is official, the whole Kingdom will move from June 25 to zone 1, with the exception of the cities of Marrakech, Tangier, Larache and Kenitra, because the epidemiological situation does not allow it. The ocher city must therefore still be patient, despite certain improvements.
We will be able to walk without authorization
This is correct, but only within the province or the prefecture. So unfortunately, even to enjoy the beaches of Essaouira, you will have to be patient. Only business travel is allowed between regions, and on condition that you have a permit.
But then why did I see that domestic flights resume?
They resume well but for any movement between zones 1 and 2, you will need a professional authorization or one issued by the local authorities.
Is it possible to have lunch on the terrace?
Yes ! Cafes and restaurants will resume service, provided they do not exceed 50% of their capacity. On the other hand, we will have to wait for the bars and nightclubs.
